 Day 2 : ARRIVAL KATHMANDU

You’ll begin your journey in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Upon arrival, you will be met and greeted by the Lumle’s representative and transferred to the hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. You might like to wander into the city center to explore the markets and restaurants.

Overnight at the hotel.
 Day 3: KATHMANDU

There is an optional Mount Everest flight (subject to weather conditions). Climbing Mount Everest, the world's tallest peak, is an arduous journey that takes several months, and even longer to plan for. Yet if seeing Everest up close is on your bucket list, you will want to opt for a Mount Everest flight that will fly you near Everest. Indulge in the panorama and maybe, just maybe, you might realize what you have been missing, or find what you have been looking for, all this while. Replete with stunning views of the mountains as you fly over the range, the Mount Everest flight starts at 6 am early in the morning, Mount Everest is 20 miles from your window, and 50-minute flight is truly an unforgettable once-in-a-lifetime experience. After all, a holiday to Nepal might be incomplete without the Mount Everest flight which makes it beautiful.

Today, explore Kathmandu and the Kathmandu Valley, visiting the prominent holy sites Swayambhunath and Boudhanath Stupa. You’ll also visit Kathmandu Durbar Square. All these sites are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You'll be accompanied by a driver and an experienced English-speaking guide who can describe each site's history and cultural significance.

The Kathmandu Durbar Square, Kathmandu’s number one tourist attraction swarms with life. Though a few of the square’s 50-plus monuments date from the 12th century, most are from the time of the Malla Kings. Probably the most famous building here is the Kumari Bahal, a building richly decorated with beautiful woodcarvings, which is home to the Royal Kumari, the Living Goddess, and a manifestation of the great goddess Durga. Nearby the former Royal Palace is a Mall Dynasty dwelling, once considerably more extensive than today. Within, the courtyard Nassal Chowk, originally hosted dramatic dance performances, now it is the coronation site of the Shah kings and contains some of the finest wood carvings you will see anywhere in the kingdom. The 14th-century Jagannath Mandir is the oldest temple in the area, its steps carved with inscriptions in many languages, nearby Taleju Mandir is one of the largest and finest temples in the Valley. It is dedicated to the patron deity of the royal family, Taleju Bhawani, a wrathful form of Durga who once demanded human sacrifices.

Then, continue your visit to Swayambhunath, the most ancient and enigmatic of the Valley’s holy shrines the golden-spired stupa of Swayambhunath tops a wooded hillock. Records of its history date as far as the 5th century, but its origins are believed to be older. It is the Kathmandu Valley’s most sacred Buddhist shrine and whilst its worshippers include the Vajrayana Buddhists of northern Nepal and Tibet, Newari Buddhists are the most fervent devotees. Later, continue to the Bouddhanath, where you will see one of the largest stupas in Nepal. A small Tibetan settlement has developed around this important religious sight. Many Tibetan Buddhist festivals take place here, and you can visit the Tibetan monastery close by.

Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 : KATHMANDU – CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK

Today head south to the grassy lowlands of Chitwan National Park, 198km, a 5–6-hour drive away or take a quick 20-minute flight and less than an hour's drive (at extra cost), passing through beautiful villages and breath-taking landscapes of verdant valleys framed by majestic mountains and the wild white waters of the river Trishuli. A UNESCO-designated site, Chitwan National Park is popular as the home of the rare and endangered one-horned rhino and the royal Bengal tiger. Asiatic elephants also roam the plains in herds while gharial and marsh mugger crocodiles bask along the riverbanks. On arrival, you'll check in to a wildlife lodge and have some time to rest & relax. After a period of rest, you will be briefed about the activities in Chitwan. After the briefing, you will have time to have your lunch. A cultural tour of the Tharu Village will follow the lunch. Tharus are indigenous people of Terai living there for more than 500 years while still preserving most of their age-old fascinating culture. Later, you might like to enjoy drinks in the hotel bar or enjoy a short walk in this area. The same night, you will witness the famous Tharu Stick cultural dance followed by dinner.

Overnight at the wildlife resort.
Day 5 : CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK

Today you will have a full day exploring the park. There are plenty of activities, including jungle walks and jeep safaris. Hopefully, you will be able to spot some of the one-horned rhinos that reside here. After breakfast, head out with your resort's expert naturalist for a canoe ride in the Rapti River which will allow you to watch some fascinating creatures like crocodiles and kingfishers in their natural habitats. Chitwan is one of the most sought-after places for bird watching, which will be one of the highlights of your stay. You will continue to explore more of Chitwan National Park, with a nature walk along the riverbank, spotting birds and taking in the unspoiled beauty of the surrounding forest. Expert naturalists will acquaint you with the grassland and the many smaller creatures that often elude the eye. You will then return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, head out with your resort's expert naturalist in an open jeep on a wildlife safari through the dense jungles. On your return, you will have some time for rest followed by dinner.

Overnight at the wildlife resort.
 Day 6 : CHITWAN – POKHARA

Pokhara is a place of remarkable natural beauty. The enchanting city has several beautiful lakes and stunning panoramic views of Himalayan peaks. The serenity of the lakes and the magnificence of the Himalayas rising behind them create the ambiance that has made Pokhara such a popular place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Tourism focuses on the districts of Dam side and Lakeside (or Pardi and Baidam, in Nepali, respectively). This drive along the banks of the Trishuli River will let you enjoy amazing landscapes, glimpses of the authentic countryside of Nepal, and pristine towns. On arrival, check in at the hotel and the rest of the day at leisure.

Overnight at the hotel.
 Day 7 : POKHARA

There is an optional Sunrise trip to Sarangkot (subject to weather conditions). Climbing the Himalayas is an arduous journey that takes months, and even longer to prepare for. Yet if seeing these Himalayas up close is on your bucket list, you will want to opt for a Sunrise trip to Sarangkot that will let you enjoy amazing sunrise views of these Himalayas from closer. Replete with stunning and awesome views of the mountains on one side and the beautiful view of Pokhara city on the other side, truly an unforgettable once-in-a-lifetime experience. Sarangkot is the most popular tourist destination from where the tourist can enjoy the great view of the Pokhara Valley and the magnificent view of the mountains. Sarangkot is only 5 km from Lake Side, the highest viewpoint for a sunrise, and it is just 1592m high. Sarangkot is 5 degrees cooler than Pokhara.

After breakfast, the day is packed full of sightseeing opportunities around this majestic region; browse the stalls at the town’s old bazaar, explore the highly sacred ‘Bindabasini’ temple, enjoy the Gurkha Museum, Devi's Fall, and explore the mysterious Gupteshwor Cave. Gurkha Soldiers joined the British Army in 1815 and later into the Indian Army after its independence in 1947. The museum provides a rich history of these hardy soldiers and their various campaigns in the World Wars. Displays also include uniforms they wore, items they used, and medals they won. Details of the Gurkha Victoria Cross winners, the highest bravery medal awarded by the British Empire with their citations can also be viewed. Then continue, visit the Old Bazaar. Pokhara's traditional bazaar is colourful and so are its ethnically diverse traders. In its temples and monuments can be seen ties to the old Newar Architecture of the Kathmandu valley, located about 4 km from Lakeside, the market S's original charm is still evident. This area is strewn with shops selling commodities ranging from edibles to cloth to cosmetics and gold is a pleasant and shady spot to stroll around. The Old Bazaar is also home to one of Pokhara’s most important shrines. Locally called the Bindyabasini Mandir, this white dome-like structure dominates a spacious stone–paved courtyard built atop a shady hillock. It is dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati, yet another manifestation of Shakti. Thepark–like grounds offers a fine picnic area, and on Saturdays, and Tuesdays when devotees flock there to offer sacrifices, it takes on a festive flavour.

    Wonderful trip!

Nepal trip 2014 July August was very very good. Indeed it was a bit of a shock at the beginning but within a day or two it seemed very familiar. The weather throughout the journey was fairly good apart from the extreme heat in fact upto 45 degrees in Janakpur and Lumbini, Chitwan which was very very very hot! (Like having an outdoor Sauna,) and on our return to Kathmandu we also experienced the monsoon heavy rain showers in the evening! I can say we did face problems with the food as nearly all the hotels/restaurants did not provide pure vegetarian food hence we skipped many meals throughout the journey. Nonetheless in terms of the holiday we are very pleased to say that this spiritual/magical Nepal trip with some adventure was an absolute pleasure and superbly extravagant and have returned to London as very happy customers. Thank you so much Narayan Ji and Madhu ji and Sharma Ji. It was so lovely and peaceful, I cannot wait to go another time.
