Day 01 | Depart / London Heathrow

Today you will board on an overnight plane to Colombo; 1 stopover; 1-4 hours layover (direct flight can be arranged at extra cost).

Day 2 | Airport / Kalpitiya: (Approx. 3hrs.)

Arrive in the Morning at the airport & meet your English speaking guide at the Airport Lobby. Thereafter, proceed to Kalpitiya.

Day 03 | Kalpitiya / Wilpatthu / Anuradhapura: (Approx. 5 hrs.)

After breakfast proceed to Wilpatthu.

This is the land haunted by big cats of the island paradise. Recording a vast number of Sri Lankan Leopards – smarter looking than its Indian cousin – Wilpatthu National Park has been named due to ‘Willus’ (Natural Lakes) studded throughout the park. Apart from big cats & precious flora, the park is well known for a healthy population of elephant, sloth bear, spotted deer, mongoose and water buffalo. Do not be surprised if the squeal of a helpless wild boar pierce through your ears, just observe closer and you might be presented with a fantastic hunt because it is all action that speaks at Wilpatthu.

Day 4 | Anuradhapura city Tour / Mannar: (Approx. 4 hrs.)

After breakfast proceed to Anuradhapura City Tour.

Commanding a rich Sri Lankan heritage, Anuradhapura – one of the greatest and oldest civilizations in the world spanning over 1300 years in its peak – avows of being the greatest city of ancient Sri Lanka following its reign as the first capital. The sapphire of its crown is certainly the Sri Maha Bodhi – the sacred Bo sapling extracted from the tree under which Lord Buddha attained enlightenment – standing more than 2200 years in its pride. Day 5 | Mannar City Tour: (Approx. 4 hrs.)

After breakfast proceed to Mannar city tour.

After breakfast Sight Seeing at Mannar Island. Visit the Adams Bridge. The Legendary story Ramayana mentioned that Monkey army of King Rama from India build this bridge thousands of years ago to aid the war between Sri Lankan king RAWANA & RAMA. To date it is considered holy by the Hindu’s. Today NASA has confirmed that the rock formation is not natural and probably man made over thousands of years ago. You will visit the sand dunes and little islands by boat. So be prepared with sun tan and sun hats. Thereafter return to the hotel for the overnight stay

Day 06 | Mannar / Trincomalee: (Approx. 5 hrs.)

After breakfast proceed to Trincomalee.

Trincomalee, the city which houses one of the best natural deep-water ports in the world, has a legacy that has painted history since royalty throughout colonization, heading towards modern Sri Lanka revamping a fancy development effort. Enter the granite-built Portuguese fort resting in the heart of Trincomalee or head towards the crystal blue sea for an enthralling experience in scuba diving, snorkeling or fishing. If adventure is your pick, then head few more kilometers to be ‘whaled’ by the giant fins that crash down the blue waves! Meanwhile, head towards the classical-medieval Hindu temple ‘Koneswaram’ which blazes a subtle sense of Dravidian architecture or take a stroll towards the Bhadrakali Amman Temple dedicated to the goddess Kali. Pigeon Island is another famous pick in Trincomalee. Being a popular marine sanctuary Pigeon Island – colonized by rock pigeons – houses some of the best preserved coral reefs. Step through the gigantic ‘Lion Paws’ – overlooking the symmetrical royal gardens below – to comprehend the absolute splendour that once dominated this rock fortress. Surrounded by ramparts & moats the Lion Rock – resembling the mythological ‘City of Gods’ – is coated by frescoes that relate to Gupta style paintings found in Ajanta caves of India. Walk in the shade of an eminent ‘mirror wall’ embracing the Western face of Sigiriya representing an artistic hundred meters laminated with graffiti.

Day 09 | Habarana / Dambulla / Polonnaruwa /Habarana: (Approx. 4 hrs.)

After breakfast proceed to Dambulla.

Passing Matale as one reaches the city of Dambulla lies a hub which has been treasured by many kings since the 1st century B.C. Today, an icon in the face of Sri Lanka Dambulla Rock Temple houses some of the most unique drawings in magnificently constructed 5 cave temples flanking the golden temple of Dambulla. Observe how exquisitely cave paintings are done along walls that shelter 150 statues of Lord Buddha. As you enter the retreat look straight up to the gigantic Buddha statue glittering in gold over a land which today houses an important junction in the country’s economic and cultural uplifting.
There after proceed to Polonnaruwa.

Raising with the decline of Anuradhapura, the city of Polonnaruwa – medieval capital & crown jewel of King Parakramabahu I – remains superior proof of ancient culture & heritage blended with religious beliefs. Galle, the epic Southern capital, is the intersection where classic Dutch architecture meets a tropical setting creating a vivid atmosphere in beauty. Walk the Dutch-haunted streets listening to the creaks of wooden saloon doors and observe how European architecture mingles with South Asian traditions today flooding cultural enthusiasts on a global scale. Its original ramparts and bastions preserved up to date showcase evidences of a heritage preserved for more than 3 1/2 centuries. Walk clockwise within the fort to observe the ‘old gate’ carrying the British coat of arms. This Dutch bliss is painted with streets that spread in a rectangular grid pattern pierced with houses carrying Dutch colonial style verandas. Flight Documents : Once your final payment has been processed, we will send you an email confirmation. You will receive all travel documentation required for your flights and accommodation shortly afterwards.

Flight Times : Please note that flights may be subject to change, delay or postponement by the provider and that flight times are provisional. We search for the best times for you and will do our utmost to provide you with the flights detailed above. However, please note that flight times are subject to availability and may be amended.

Group : In Sri Lanka you will travel in a group of minimum 02 and maximum 10 people

Visa : Please note that in order to visit Sri Lanka, you will require a tourist visa. For the most up-to-date information regarding travel visas – including prices and the required length of time that the document is needed for – we advise that you visit www.gov.uk . Alternatively, you can contact the local embassy of the country you are planning to visit.

Passport : Please note that your passport MUST be valid for a minimum of 6 months after the validation date of your visa.

Visa Documents : Lumle Holidays will send you all the required documentation you need to apply for your visa (including flight information) between 4 and 6 weeks prior to your selected date of departure so you can apply for your Sri Lanka visa in time. At least 3 weeks before your departure date you will receive your flight tickets and the confirmed list of your hotels in Sri Lanka.

Travel Documents : Please ensure you take all your final travel documents with you to Sri Lanka.

Personal Information : Please ensure that your personal deatils is filled in identically to the data on your passport. If this information does not match, you cannot travel to and from your destination. Amendment to this information if entered incorrectly will result in additional charges. If married, please fill in your surname as it appears on your passport.

Compulsory Supplement : Please note there will be compulsory supplement charge of £95 per person payable for any booking made in between 01-31 Aug 2016 and of £145 per person 15 Dec 2016 – 01 Jan 2017.
