Upon arrival at Lhasa airport or train station, to be met and transferred to your hotel / hostel in Lhasa. Afternoon have a good rest to acclimatize the high altitude. Overnight at Lhasa.
Morning 9.00am visit Jokhang temple
Built in 7th century by the Tibetan King Songsten Gampo and it’s very holiest temple in Tibet After finished visit the Jokhang temple you can go for the khora it take half hrs.
Afternoon 03.00pm visit Sera monastery is the second largest monastery in Gelukpa sect (yellow hat sect.)
Buit in 1419 by the Sakya Yeshi, disciple of Tsongkhapa (founder of yellow hat sect)
After finished visit Sera monastery take rest and walk around the Lhasa city by yourself.
Morning or afternoon you can visit the Potala palace
Built in 7th century by Tibetan King songsten Gamp and later it’s become winter palace of The Dalai Lamas
After noon visit Drepung monastery is one of the largest monasteries in Gelukpa sect(Yellow hat sect)
Built in 1416 by the Jamyang Choje. Disciple of Tsongkhapa (founder of yellow hat sect)
Morning: cross Kambala pass (4700m) with spectacular views of Yamdrok-Tso lake (4441m) and Mt. Najin Kangtsangg (7191m).
The intense blue Yamdrok-Tso lake (scorpion lake) is one of the holy lakes in Tibet.
Stop Lunch at Nangartse Town (4400m)
After lunch, drive towards Gyantse through the Karola pass (5050m). here you can see the Karola glacier and Gyantse Dam. Gyantse (3980) is the third largest town in Tibet and it used to be the main trade center between India, Nepal and Bhutan.
Visit Kumbum stupa and Phelcho monastery and visit Gyantse fort.
Kumbum stupa, Phelcho monastery and the fort are one of the most impressive architectural achievements in Tibet. Kumbum stupa and the adherent fort were built in 1427, Phelcho monastery was built in 1418 by the 1st Panchen Lama.
After visiting Kumbum stupa, Phelcho monastery and the fort, we will drive to Shigatse. Shigatse (3840m) is the 2nd largest city in Tibet. It is called the Tsang region.
This morning visit Tashi Lhunpo monastery
Tashi Lhunpo monastery is one of the largest Gelugpa sect monasteries in the Tsang area.
It was built in 1447 by the 1st Dalai lama Genden Drup. The monastery later became the seat of the Pachen lamas.
After finished visit Tashi Lhunpo monastery you will drive over The Friendship highway. After a few hours, we will take the route to Sakya monastery. The immense, grey, thick-walled southern monastery is one of Tibet’s most impressive sights. When you have visited the monastery, you will drive back to the main road for about 25km and turn on The Friendship highway again. After about one hour you will reach Lhatse town, stop there for lunch and then pass on to the Gyatso la pass (5248m). Thereafter you will reach a small town from where you will have splendid views of Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhatse. From there you will reach Sheger and drive to Sheger fort. Sheger fort is a special, little visited place. Here you can also see Sheger monastery and then drive back to town. Here your tour guide will help you buy entrance tickets for Everest Base Camp.
You should wake up early in the morning (around 7am) and drive to Everest Base Camp- After 5km there is one military check point, afterwards you will turn to Qomolama national preserve park –across the Gawola pass 5200m. From here you can watch the sun rise over the Himalayas ans Mt. Everest. Here you can take pictures and have a magnificent view on the four highest mountains in the Himalayan range. You will feel like you can touch the sky. When finished you will drive to a small village called Tashi Dzong. There we will have lunch and drive to Rongphu monastery. If you want, you can sleep in Tent Guest House. From here you will have the option of taking a small bus to Everest Base Camp or hike to Everest Base Camp.
When you come back from Base Camp you will have some spare time at the Tent Camp or Rongphu monastery where you will spend the night.
Morning: have a fantastic view of the roof of the world as you step out of your tent and have breakfast. After this, you will drive to the town of Old Tingri. Many tourist undertake the trek from Old Tingri to Everest base camp. This road is rough and on the way you can see some nomad and small villages. The scenery here is extremely beautiful.
After Lunch you will drive to the border town of Zhangmu. On the way you’ll pass through two passes: Nyalam and Thangla. On the last pass you have viewa of Mt. Shishapangma. Stop and have lunch at Nyalam town. After Nyalam you will drive through thick forest and you can see some waterfalls.
Arrive at Zhangmu and sleep here in one of the hotels or guest houses.
In the morning, when the border opens, you will cross the border with Nepal where you will leave Tibet. Our representative will meet you in Nepal border to transfer you to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, check into the hotel.
Today you will proceed for full day Kathmandu visiting Pashupatinath, Boudhanath and Sywambhunath and Kathmandu Durbar Square.
Today after breakfast you will have option for final departure or extension of Nepal holiday.
