Spend nine nights in the rugged Mongolia, a rapidly changing country where nomadic hospitality is still very much alive and thriving. Get back to the nature in the Ger Camp, relax in the hot springs and hike up a hill for stunning landscapes.

THE EXPERIENCE

Day 1 : Depart London Heathrow

Today you will board an overnight flight to Ulaanbaatar. Overnight is in the plane.

Day 2 : Arrival Ulaanbaatar

Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar, our professional English speaking local guide will warmly welcome the travellers at the airport оr train station, and transfer to hotel to proceed check-in. Overnight stay at Alpha hotel.

Day 3 : Murun/Khuvsgul lake (domestic flight)

Today we take morning flight to Murun regional city. The flight is approx. 1.5 hour long. Lunch is served in Murun. Then we will drive further north to the Khuvsgul lake, approximately 3 hour drive. Check in to the tourist ger camp on the lake shore. Dinner and overnight in a ger camp. (B/L/D)

Day 4 : Around the Khuvsgul lake

Today we’ll spend the full day exploring the surroundings of the lake. We’ll start the day visiting local reindeer people who kept their unique traditional way of living up to day. Hiking in the mountains in the area until lunch. After lunch several activities are available to your choosing such as horseback riding, excursion on the lake by motorboat and fishing. After dinner relax and enjoy the peacefulness of the lake. Lunch, dinner and overnight at the camp. (B/L/D)

Day 5 : Jargal Jiguur/ Jargalant

After breakfast, transfer back to Murun city and visit ancient burial sites and Deer Stone monuments not far from the city. And continue driving through magnificent lush valleys of the northern Mongolia and arrive at the camp in time for lunch. Take a walk around the camp’s scenic surroundings and enjoy tranquillity of mother nature and visit small countryside village near the camp. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp. (B/L/D)

Day 6 : Khorgo Volcano (380km)

Today we journey south to the beautiful volcanic area of Khorgo Terkh National Park. Highlights of this area includes magnificent volcanic crater of Khorgo and Great White Lake/locally Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur. Lunch, dinner and overnight in a ger camp. (B/L/D)

Day 7 : Tsenkher hot springs (200km)

After breakfast, transfer to Tsenkher hot springs, driving through scenic valleys. Spend the day relaxing in natural hot springs and walking in its surrounding forest. Please pack your swimsuit for this day. Your may have a short hiking to a mountain top, where a stunning view awaits you. Optional massage and beauty services are available. Enjoy the hot springs again after dinner. Lunch, dinner and overnight in a ger camp. (B/L/D)

Day 8 : Karakorum (120km)

After breakfast transfer to Karakorum, an ancient capital of the Mongol Empire. Visit Erdene Zuu Monastery, which once was one of the largest monasteries in Mongolia, but heavily damaged in the 1930s anti-religion purges. Tour the monastery grounds and visit several temples with excellent examples of Buddhist iconography dating from the 16th century. Dinner and overnight in a ger camp. (B/L/D)

Day 9 : Khustai Nature Reserve (320km)

In the morning, visit Karakorum museum which displays interesting artifacts from the times of Ancient Mongolian States to Great Mongol Empire. Then transfer to Elsen Tasarkhai, also known as Small gobi, continuous sand dunes at the foot of Khugnu Khan mountain. Lunch will be served at local camp. Then transfer to Khustai Nature Reserve. This reserve is inhabited by various kinds of wild lives including takhi otherwise known as Prezwalski horse, one of the remaining wild horse species. We will arrive at the camp around the time for lunch. After lunch, watch a documentary about the Reserve and reintroduction of takhi horses back into the wild. Then we are off to have a close look at these magnificent horses and. Dinner is served at the camp. Hiking and photographing are available around the camp. Overnight stay in a camp. (B/L/D)

Day 10 : Ulaanbaatar (100 km)

Have breakfast at the camp, then visit Mongol Nomadic show where you will be introduced to very traditional Mongolian nomadic culture and life style. Lunch at the camp. Then in the afternoon transfer back to Ulaanbaatar. Visit city highlights such as Gandan Monastery, Sukhbaatar square, National Museum. Evening visit Zaisan Hill Memorial and enjoy panoramic view of the city. Overnight stay at Alpha hotel. (B/L)

Day 11 : Departure

Following breakfast transfer to the international departure point and conclude the tour. (B)
