The Experience

Day 1 | Depart London Heathrow

Today you will board on an overnight plane to Siem Reap (1 stopover; 1-5 hours’ layover).

Overnight stay in the plane.

Day 2 | Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City

You arrive Tan Son Nhat (Saigon) International Airport. Transfer from Airport to Ho Chi Minh City at any time then transfer to hotel in Ho Chi Minh City for check-in. Free for leisure. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 2 | Ho Chi Minh City – Delta Mekong (B, L)

7:30 a.m. Departure for Cai Be, stopping for photos in Tan An, a town overlooking the plans and picturesque rice fields. On arrival at Cai Be, we will take a motor boat to visit the floating market and watch the locals trading fruit and many other products on board their vessels. Then stroll through the small villages to visit the orchards. The cruise goes to Vinh Long through a series of small channels where we can experience the charms of the upper Mekong Delta. Visit a small family business to see how coconut sweets and crispy rice popcorn are made. Arrival in the village of Binh Hoa Phuoc, the green pearl of Vinh Long town, where you can make an immersion in nature. Enjoy lunch with fresh food from the river served in the garden of the heart accompanied by the traditional folk music of the South Vietnamese. Take a leisurely stroll through the Bonsai Garden. Meeting with the driver in Vinh Long and return to Ho Chi Minh City. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 3 | Ho Chi Minh City Free day

Breakfast at hotel, free time and overnight at hotel.

Day 4 | Ho Chi Minh City – Phnom Penh by flight (B)

After breakfast, our driver picks up and transfer to the airport to take the flight to Phnom Penh. Arrive in Phnom Penh, our driver picks up and transfer to hotel for check-in. Free time and overnight at hotel.

Day 5 | Phnom Penh free day (B)

Day 6 | Phnom Penh – Siem Reap by flight (B)

Breakfast at hotel, transfer to airport for your domestic flight to Siem Reap.

Upon arrival, you take a short 15km drive to Phnom Krom the large hill that looms closer and enjoy a relaxing cruise on the on the Tonle Sap lake, the largest lake in South East Asia. You will see the traditional floating village of Chong Kneas and witness the residents going about their daily life – it is quite a sight seeing a whole bamboo village complete with homes, gas stations, schools, hairdressers, and even karaoke bars floating on a lake. On the way back to Siem Reap you will call in at Artisans d’Angkor, an interesting boutique workshop where you can observe young Cambodians learning traditional Khmer handicraft techniques, such as stone & wood carving, and lacquering & gilding – a great opportunity for last-minute quality souvenirs.

Day 7 | Siem Reap – Angkor Wat (B)

Breakfast at hotel, then transfer to full-day Angkor Tour visit: the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the last capital of Angkor Period (AD 802-1432) until the 15th century, was indeed a Great City as its name implied. Bayon Temple, one of the most popular sites in Angkor complex and over 200 large faces caved on the 54 towers, which at that time represents the 54 provinces in The Khmer Empire, give this temple its majestic character, visit Phimean Akas Temple, Bapoun Temple, Terrace of the Elephant, Terrace of Leper King, Royal enclosure, keep moving on to visit Ta Prohm Temple built in AD 1186 by King Jayavarman VII. Trunks of trees twist amongst stone pillars, and spread their gigantic roots over, under and in between the stones, probing walls and terraces apart, make this temple even more attractive.

Afternoon proceeds to the World Heritage of Angkor Wat, one of the “Seven Wonders’ of the world”.

Note: During Temples visit, visitors are required to wear proper attire, covering shoulders and knees as this temple is still considered as the sacred site (no short, miniskirt or short trousers).

Children under twelve years old are not allowed to climb up Bakhan tower of Angkor Wat Temple, and it will be closed on the Buddhist Sabath Days, the Buddhist religious days, four days a month in accordance with the Lunar Calendar.

Day 8 | Siem Reap free day (B)

Breakfast at hotel.

Day 9 | Siem Reap – Luang Prabang

Breakfast at hotel, transfer to airport for your departure flight.

You will be met by our driver and transferred to your hotel. Luang Prabang is perhaps the best-preserved traditional city in Southeast Asia. The tranquillity and charm of this town with its splendid natural scenery and cultural sights make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos.

Today is free at your leisure to explore the Night Market, where you can find a lovely selection of handmade textile made by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 10 | Luang Prabang – City Tour – Pak Ou cave (B)

After breakfast, we enjoy a short-guided tour to see the city’s oldest temple Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong.

We then climb up to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a panoramic view of the city.

Afternoon, we then embark on an upstream cruise on the Mekong River, which gives us a panoramic view of the tranquil countryside. We’ll make sure to stop at the Pak Ou Caves, sanctuaries consisting of two large caverns, both repositories for thousands of Buddha images. We will also stop at a few villages during the day, including Ban Xanghai where the local rice wine is produced and Ban Xieng Lek and Ban Xangkong, known for handmade jute paper. Overnight in Luang Prabang

Day 11 | Luang Prabang – Khouangsi Waterfalls – Flight to Hanoi (B)

An optional early start gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning alms-giving ritual to saffron-clad monks. This tradition is unique to Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving this procession.

Later in the morning, we go to Phosi Market, which has an eclectic selection of foodstuffs and souvenirs. Afterwards, we head out to visit some ethnic minority villages and see how these colourful people live. We then drive to the beautiful Khouangsi Waterfalls where you can swim in the turquoise pools or walk along forest paths.

Back to Luang Prabang and transfer to the airport for the fight departure to Hanoi.

Arrive in Hanoi, our driver picks up and transfer to hotel for check-in. Free time and overnight in Hanoi.

Day 12 | Hanoi – Hanoi (B, L, D) by shuttle bus

Morning departure to one of the most magnificent places in the world, Halong Bay. The trip takes about 3h30. Halong covers 577 square kilometres and this vast bay is filled with more than 3,000 limestone peaks or karsts that jut from the deep blue waters as far as the eye can see. We will spend a day and a half, including an evening with dinner and breakfast on board, exploring this amazing seascape from the deck of a Vietnamese traditional boat. Comfortable and intimate, your boat has wooden interior handmade, including a dining room and pleasant air-conditioned cabins with private bathrooms. Since we are on the water at night, we can explore the most beautiful places in Ha Long Bay with time to swim and even visit some of the largest rock formations and caves. This promises to be one of your most memorable travel experiences in Asia. Overnight on the boat.

Day 13 | Halong – Hanoi (Brunch) by shuttle bus

Following the sound of the bay waters, we have time for a morning swim followed by breakfast. Sitting on the upper deck of the boat, you can relax while enjoying the beauty breathtaking rocky islands that come out of the bay emerald waters. After breakfast, we explore Sung Sot cave and we’ll have time to swim and relax. With the boat in the direction back to the pier, brunch is served while you watch most fascinating formations. Day 14 | Hanoi Free day (B)
