BREXIT: Will it affect YOUR Holiday?
The United Kingdom has voted to leave the European Union which may come as a shock to many of us. The fact is that no changes will take place overnight. The Brexit process (or the divorce from the EU) may take at least 2 years. The British Government will have to trigger Article 50 of The 2009 Lisbon Treaty in order to begin the process of leaving EU. The British Prime Minister, David Cameron has maintained that, new Prime Minister who will have to take this step which means the process will begin in October this year when we have new Prime Minister.
BREXIT: Will there be any long term affects for holidays?
Although, an exit from EU will take 2 years or more, the biggest affect we will observe Britain’s short term economy’s standing, currency fluctuation and market uncertainty.
This means that the prices of holidays and travel are likely to be affected in the future. It is observed that since EU referendum outcome of 24th June, the Sterling pound has fallen by 12% which is huge fraction of costs.
We at Lumle Holidays unlike other tour operators have decided to review our current prices to align with currency fluctuation which will observe price increase effective from 04 July 2016. This price increase will not affect if you have already booked holidays with us.
