Day 1 : DEPARTURE NEW YORK FOR SRI LANKA

Today you will depart from NEW YORK on your flight to Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The standard package includes a one-stop flight with an overnight journey. Direct flight options may be available at an additional cost during the online booking process, subject to availability and departure airport.

If your outbound or inbound flight is scheduled for the early hours (before 4:00 AM), please ensure that you arrive at the airport the night before your stated departure date to allow sufficient time for check-in and security procedures.

Day 2 : ARRIVAL IN COLOMBO AND TRANSFER TO NEGOMBO

Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, complete immigration formalities, collect your luggage and proceed to the arrivals hall, where you will be met by a local representative.

You will then be transferred to Negombo, a coastal town located a short distance from the airport.

Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. You may wish to relax at the hotel, explore the local area independently, or simply rest after your journey.

Day 3 : NEGOMBO TO ANURADHAPURA

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and travel to Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s first ancient capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Upon arrival, begin your sightseeing tour of Anuradhapura, one of the country's most important historical and religious centres. During your visit, explore a selection of significant archaeological and cultural sites that reflect the city's importance in Sri Lanka's ancient civilisation.

Highlights may include the sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, revered by Buddhists around the world, as well as some of the city's impressive stupas, monastic complexes and ancient ruins.

As you explore the ancient city, learn about its historical significance and the role it played as a centre of religion, culture and governance for many centuries.

Following the sightseeing, continue to your hotel and check in.

Day 4 : JOURNEY TO JAFFNA AND NORTHERN SRI LANKA SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and travel to Jaffna, the cultural centre of northern Sri Lanka, known for its distinctive heritage, traditions and historical landmarks.

Upon arrival, enjoy sightseeing in and around Jaffna. Visit Point Pedro, located at the northernmost point of Sri Lanka, and continue to the renowned Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil, one of the country's most important Hindu temples.

During your visit, learn about the history, culture and traditions of northern Sri Lanka and discover how this region differs from other parts of the island.

Day 5 : KEERIMALAI AND KARAINAGAR EXCURSION

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning at leisure. You may wish to spend time at the hotel or explore Jaffna independently.

Later in the day, travel to Keerimalai, a coastal area known for its natural spring and religious significance. Here, visit the Keerimalai Naguleswaram Kovil, one of the region's important Hindu temples, and learn about its cultural and spiritual importance.

Continue to Karainagar and visit Casuarina Beach, one of northern Sri Lanka's best-known beaches. Take time to enjoy the coastal scenery and observe local life in this part of the Jaffna Peninsula.

During the excursion, travel across the Karainagar Causeway, which links the mainland with the island and offers views across the surrounding coastline.

Following the sightseeing, return to Jaffna.

Day 6 : THALAIYADI BEACH AND ELEPHANT PASS EXCURSION

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning at leisure.

Later, visit Thalaiyadi Beach, located on Sri Lanka’s northern coastline. Take time to enjoy the coastal setting and observe daily life in this less-visited part of the country.

Continue to Elephant Pass, the gateway linking the Jaffna Peninsula with the rest of Sri Lanka. This strategically important location played a significant role in the country’s recent history.

During your visit, see key landmarks in the area, which may include the Elephant Pass War Memorial, the Elephant Pass Railway Station, and monuments commemorating important events and individuals associated with the region.

Learn about the historical significance of Elephant Pass and its role during Sri Lanka’s civil conflict, gaining a deeper understanding of the area's past and its importance to the nation.

Following the sightseeing, return to Jaffna.

Day 7 : JAFFNA TO DAMBULLA

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and travel to Dambulla, located in Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle.

Day 8 : SIGIRIYA ROCK FORTRESS AND HIRIWADUNNA VILLAGE EXPERIENCE

After breakfast, visit Sigiriya, one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic landmarks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Climb the ancient rock fortress and explore this remarkable archaeological site, which is associated with King Kasyapa and dates back to the 5th century. During your visit, see features such as the landscaped gardens, the famous Mirror Wall, the Lion Paws entrance, and other remains of the ancient royal complex.

Weather and time permitting, enjoy views of the surrounding countryside from the summit before visiting the Sigiriya Museum to learn more about the history and significance of the site.

Later, continue to Hiriwadunna Village for a traditional village experience and lunch.

Day 9 : DAMBULLA TO NUWARA ELIYA

If time permits, visit a local tea plantation and factory to learn about the production of Sri Lanka’s renowned Ceylon Tea. During the visit, gain an insight into the tea-making process, from cultivation and harvesting to processing and packaging.

Day 10 : NUWARA ELIYA SIGHTSEEING

Today, enjoy sightseeing in and around Nuwara Eliya, a hill town known for its tea-growing landscapes, colonial-era influences and cooler climate.

During the day, visit a selection of local attractions and landmarks. Sightseeing may include sites such as the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club, the historic Post Office, Victoria Park, Lake Gregory, Sita Amman Temple, Hakgala Botanical Gardens and other places of interest, depending on local conditions and available time.

You may also have the opportunity to visit a local strawberry farm, subject to opening times and availability.

Later, enjoy afternoon tea at a local hotel, where you can sample a selection of teas and light refreshments.

Return to your hotel after the sightseeing.

Day 11 : SCENIC TRAIN JOURNEY TO ELLA

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Nanu Oya Railway Station for your journey towards Ella.

Travel through Sri Lanka’s hill country by train, passing tea-growing regions, mountain landscapes and rural villages along the route. This railway journey is widely regarded as one of the most scenic experiences in Sri Lanka.

Where train tickets are unavailable, or in the event of operational disruption, maintenance work or timetable changes, the rail journey may be replaced by a road transfer between Nuwara Eliya and Ella (or the nearest suitable railway stations) with a comparable journey duration.

Day 12 : UDAWADIYA WATERFALL AND VILLAGE LUNCH EXPERIENCE

Today, travel to Udawadiya Waterfall, located in the countryside surrounding Ella.

Take time to enjoy the natural surroundings and visit the waterfall area, where you can appreciate the landscape and learn more about local life in this part of Sri Lanka.

Day 13 : ELLA TO YALA AND AFTERNOON SAFARI

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and travel to Yala. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy some time at leisure before your safari experience.

Later in the day, proceed to Yala National Park for an afternoon safari by shared or private safari vehicle, depending on your booking arrangements.

Yala National Park is one of Sri Lanka’s best-known wildlife reserves and is home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, deer, crocodiles, monkeys, birdlife and, on occasion, the Sri Lankan leopard.

Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed and will vary depending on seasonal conditions, weather and animal movements on the day of your visit.

Following the safari, return to your hotel.

Day 14 : YALA TO BENTOTA VIA THE HISTORIC FORT CITY OF GALLE

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and depart Yala for the historic coastal city of Galle, located on Sri Lanka’s picturesque southern coastline.

Upon arrival, enjoy a guided visit of the Galle Dutch Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the finest surviving examples of a fortified colonial settlement in Asia. Wander through its charming cobbled streets lined with historic buildings, boutiques, cafés and galleries, while learning about the Portuguese, Dutch and British influences that have shaped this remarkable coastal landmark.

You will have free time within the fort to explore at your own pace. This is an ideal opportunity to enjoy lunch at one of the many cafés or restaurants located within the historic fort area (at your own expense).

During your visit, you may see notable landmarks such as the Galle Lighthouse, the Dutch Reformed Church, the Old Dutch Hospital and other points of interest that reflect the fort's rich maritime and colonial heritage.
