Begin your journey at Kampong Glam, an area where modernity meets tradition. This district has a history that dates back to Singapore’s colonial era as the allocated area to the Malay, Arab and Bugis communities. Explore the city by driving round the Civic District, passing by the Padang, Singapore Cricket Club, historic Parliament House and the National Gallery Singapore. The Gallery consists of the former Supreme Court Building and the City Hall.

Next, stop at the Merlion Park and enjoy the impressive views of Marina Bay. Do not miss out this picture-taking opportunity with The Merlion, a mythological creature that is part lion and part fish. Visit Thian Hock Keng Temple, one of Singapore’s oldest Buddhist-Taoist temples, before driving past Chinatown. Proceed to Singapore’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site – the Singapore Botanic Gardens and walk through the National Orchid Garden which boasts a sprawling display of 60,000 orchid plants.

Around the afternoon / evening we make a city walk to get to know Malacca better. The old town of Malacca is small and easy to reach by foot. It is a nice place with many historic buildings, nice shops and cozy food stalls. The colorful and multicultural city owes its name to the Malacca strait and played an important role on one of the world’s busiest shipping routes. Malacca was an important port where trade was conducted with different countries around the world. The Netherlands has also left a lot of mark on the city in the V.O.C. This is how we see the St. Paul’s Church, first a church for the Portuguese, later a cemetery during the Dutch occupation. The remains of Porta de Santiago, built by the Portuguese as a castle to protect against attacks by the Dutch. The Stadthuys with clear Dutch traits was commissioned by the Dutch governor with the red-colored Christ Church, where you can see the Dutch architectural style even better.

After breakfast we drive north to the capital Kuala Lumpur. Admire the mix of modern skyscrapers and historic architecture. Before we head to the hotel in Kuala Lumpur, we first take a look at the impressive Batu Caves, an important Hindu shrine and pilgrimage at the top of a long staircase. Pay attention to the macacas that roam here. These are “brutal monkeys.” Our climb is rewarded with caves full of beautiful altars and statues and a fairytale light. Then it’s time to go to our hotel in Kuala Lumpur. You will find that the city is one big melting pot of different Asian cultures. Upon arrival in the city, we will see the highlights and special places of Kuala Lumpur during the city tour. We take a look at the colonial and Moorish architecture on the Independence Square (‘Merdeka Square’) and walk through the small streets of Chinatown.

Verdant Hill Hotel Kuala Lumpur - Superior (Queen) (inclusive of breakfast)

You will be picked up from Kuala Lumpur and will be transferred to Kuala Tahan.

Experience the night jungle walk in one of the oldest rainforest in the world. Gather at Mutiara Taman Negara lobby at least 15 minutes before starting time. Meet with your nature guide, and after a short briefing start the exciting activity. During the night jungle walk, keep an eye out for many creatures such as the ingeniously disguised stick insect, the praying mantis and other insect active during the night. Little mammals and reptiles may also be seen from time to time and depending on the weather. Remember to bring along a flashlight, to help you while walking on the planked trail. The guide will have one for himself, so don't worry about getting lost. The tour will end at Mutiara Taman Negara Resort lobby.

Explore and hike in one of the world's oldest rainforest; Taman Negara, the largest protected area in Malaysia, spanning 4343 square km. In the morning, meet with your guide at the lobby for the daily activity, exploring the Malaysian Rainforest. The hike will be a total of 3.5 km, starting with a leisure walk up to the foothill of Bukit Teresek, and then continuing up to the peak, where you will be able to enjoy the view of the majestic National park. Descend from the peak, and continue the experience on the Canopy Walk (Closed to the Public every Friday) for a bird-eye view of the Rainforest. Hike back to the lodge.

Experience an exciting boat cruise in one of the most picturesque rivers in Taman Negara. You will be picked up at Mutiara Taman Negara Resort Jetty, and accompanied by an experienced local nature guide, you will cruise up the Tahan River. Depending on the season, the river can be shallow, and the boat might need a little push from time to time. At one point, the boat cannot take you further and it will dock to a sandbank. From the sandbank, short walk by the riverbank, to reach a rocky formation of the river where it will be possible to swim. Take a dip in the refreshing water, before your journey back to Kuala Tahan.

After Check in, Hop into the Land Rover cruising along with the picturesque rolling tea garden . Our nature guide will pick you up from your hotel in the morning. Listen to your guide “Tea Talk” while enjoying the magnificent view of the surrounding area. An interpretive walk with the nature guides around the Mossy Forest will reveal some of the exotic floras on earth, like the Pitcher plant, Orchids, Primitive Ferns, Spices, and Medicinal Plants. A short drive down will bring you to the Sungai Palas ‘BOH’ Tea plantation. Depending on the traffic, tour might start first with the visit to the tea plantation and continue to the Mossy Forest. At the end of the tour, transfer back to the hotel. (Drinks not included)

Explore Penang Hill and visit the magnificent Kek Lok Si Temple temple. In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel, and accompanied by our local guide, you will drive up to the largest Buddhist temple in Malaysia, the Kek Lok Si Temple, also known as the Temple of Supreme Bliss. Enjoy a breath-taking sight of the Gigantic Goddess of Mercy Bronze Statue overlooking the entire temple precinct and its vicinity, then take a stroll up the seven-story Pagoda, which houses over 10,000 Buddha statues. From here, head to Penang Hill, the highest peak in the island, house of oldest British hill station in the region. Enjoy a ride on the Funicular Train up the hill, where you’ll be amazed by the magnificent panoramic view of Georgetown, Mainland and the Straits of Melaka. While you’re at it, try spotting the Indonesian coastline of the island of Sumatra at West, or the island of Langkawi and its islets at North. At the end of the tour, transfer back to the hotel.

There is a daily ferry service departing Kuala Kedah jetty to Langkawi.

The ferry ride is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours in duration (timing depends greatly on sea and weather conditions).

Please kindly be at the Kuala Kedah Jetty at least 30-45 minutes prior to departure time as you will need to exchange your Voucher for the ferry boarding pass at the Ferry Line Venture counter.
