Day 3 : DISCOVER LIMA → A CAPTIVATING CITY TOUR (SHARED SERVICE)

In the morning, embark on a journey through Lima’s historic old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its wealth of fascinating historic buildings. Begin with a scenic tour of the colonial downtown, radiating from the iconic Main Square. Here, marvel at the grandiose architecture of the Spanish Empire, including ornate balconies, imposing government buildings, and cultural landmarks.

Stroll to the magnificent Cathedral of Lima, an architectural masterpiece that began construction in the 16th century and took 80 years to complete. Next, visit the enchanting Casa Aliaga, a colonial mansion granted in 1535 by Francisco Pizarro to Jerónimo de Aliaga, one of his loyal captains. This historic gem is the only house from that era still owned by the same family after nearly five centuries, offering a rare glimpse into Peru’s colonial heritage.

Continue your exploration at the Larco Museum, nestled in the charming Pueblo Libre district. Housed within a beautifully restored viceregal mansion built atop a seventh-century pre-Columbian pyramid, the museum showcases the most comprehensive pre-Hispanic collection of gold and silver artifacts, alongside an intriguing array of erotic art. This visit provides a profound insight into Peru’s ancient civilizations and their artistry.

Travel notes: Comfortable walking shoes are recommended; some areas have uneven paving. Dress modestly for the Cathedral (shoulders/knees covered), carry sunscreen and water, and keep valuables secure in busy plazas.

Practical notes: Your guide manages entrances and timings; photography may be restricted in parts of Casa Aliaga and the Larco Museum—please check on arrival. Allow extra time for city traffic between sites.

Day 4 : FLY LIMA → AREQUIPA – TRANSFERS, LEISURE DAY & OPTIONAL CITY TOUR (SHARED)

Day 5 : AREQUIPA TO COLCA VALLEY → DISCOVER PERU’S MAJESTIC CANYON AND SCENIC BEAUTY (SHARED SERVICE)

A day filled with stunning landscapes and unforgettable sights awaits. Departing the city via Yura, you’ll traverse a district known for its rugged scenery, including dramatic hills and ravines. The journey continues into the expansive Pampa Cañahuas Reserve, a vast plain where you can observe vicuñas, the indigenous Andean camelid and a cherished national symbol of Peru.

The route takes you through Vizcachani, the Pampas de Toccra, and up to the crater of the Chucura Volcano. You’ll ascend further to the Mirador de los Andes at Patapampa, standing at an altitude of 4,800 meters above sea level, where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the volcanoes surrounding Arequipa.

Lunch will be served in the charming village of Chivay, followed by an afternoon at leisure. You may choose to relax at the hotel or visit the nearby thermal springs, renowned for their soothing and rejuvenating properties.

Day plan: Full-day scenic drive via Yura, Pampa Cañahuas, Vizcachani and Pampas de Toccra to the Patapampa viewpoint (4,800 m), with wildlife-spotting opportunities for vicuñas. Lunch in Chivay, then afternoon at leisure—rest at your hotel or opt for the thermal springs. Pack layers for altitude, sun protection, and water.

Day 6 : AREQUIPA TO COLCA CANYON AND PUNO → A SCENIC JOURNEY THROUGH PERU’S BREATHTAKING LANDSCAPES (SHARED SERVICE)

A new day brings more stunning visual experiences. Begin with a visit to the renowned Cruz del Cóndor, a breathtaking viewpoint offering unparalleled views of the Colca Valley, the second deepest canyon in the world, plunging more than 4 kilometers at its deepest point. Here, marvel at the majestic Andean condors, soaring gracefully just meters away.

Continue your journey by exploring the picturesque villages of Pinchollo, Maca, Achoma, and Yanque, each showcasing unique cultural and architectural charm. Stop at the scenic vantage points of Antahuilque and Choquetico, offering stunning perspectives of the valley and its terraced landscapes as you make your way back to Chivay.

From Chivay, you will depart for Puno, taking the scenic route through Patahuasi. Along the way, witness extraordinary natural beauty, including petrified forests and vibrant blue lakes teeming with flamingos, all at an elevation of over 4,000 meters above sea level. After approximately six hours of travel, you will arrive in Puno, the gateway to Lake Titicaca.

Day plan: Early departure recommended for the best chance of condor sightings at Cruz del Cóndor. Scenic stops through Colca’s villages and viewpoints, then continue on the high-altitude route to Puno (approx. 6 hours including comfort/photo stops).

Practical notes: You’ll travel between 4,000–4,800 m; hydrate, pace yourself and carry layers (sun, wind and cool temps). Bring sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, water and small cash for restrooms/snacks. Roads are paved but winding—motion sickness tablets if needed.

Day 7 : PUNO TO UROS & AMANTANI ISLANDS → IMMERSIVE EXPLORATION OF LAKE TITICACA’S UNIQUE FLOATING ISLANDS (SHARED SERVICE)

Your day begins early as our guide picks you up from your hotel in Puno for an unforgettable excursion on the tranquil waters of Lake Titicaca. Embark on a two-hour motorboat journey to visit the unique Floating Islands of the Uros, an extraordinary cultural treasure. The Uros people, an ancient community, inhabit a series of artificial islands crafted from reeds that grow abundantly in the lake. These islands are constructed by weaving thick reeds into a natural layer, providing a stable base for their homes and outdoor kitchens to prevent fires.

After experiencing the remarkable traditions and lifestyle of the Uros, continue your motorboat trip to Amantani Island. This serene island is inhabited by Quechua-speaking natives who live by their ancient customs. Renowned for their craftsmanship, the locals specialize in ceramics and textiles, reflecting the island’s rich heritage. Known as the “Love Island,” Amantani is famed for its powerful positive energy that resonates with all who visit.

Enjoy a traditional lunch upon arrival before settling into your accommodation at a local islander’s home. Embrace the hospitality of a typical Amantani household, where you’ll experience authentic island life and share a delightful dinner with your hosts.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Accommodation: Overnight stay at a local home

Travel notes: Lake Titicaca sits around 3,800 m; walk slowly, hydrate, and use high-SPF sunscreen. Please ask permission before photographing locals and support community crafts if you wish.

Practical notes: Pack a small overnight bag for the homestay (warm layers, headlamp, personal toiletries); main luggage can remain in Puno. Facilities on Amantani are simple; electricity/hot water may be limited. Bring some PEN cash for small purchases.

Day 8 : PUNO TO TAQUILE ISLAND → DISCOVER THE TIMELESS TRADITIONS OF LAKE TITICACA'S QUECHUA COMMUNITY (SHARED SERVICE)

After a hearty breakfast, enjoy some leisure time to stroll through the charming streets of Amantani Island. This colorful island, with its serene atmosphere and welcoming locals, offers a perfect setting for a relaxed morning immersed in traditional island life.

Late in the morning, board a motorboat to visit Taquile Island, another captivating destination inhabited by Quechua-speaking natives. The residents of Taquile are renowned for their unique social systems and exceptional hand-weaving techniques, passed down through generations. To reach the island’s main town, ascend a stairway of more than 567 steps—stone paths that weave through lush greenery and terraced platforms. Upon arrival, take a well-deserved break to enjoy a traditional lunch while soaking in the island’s stunning views and vibrant culture.

By the afternoon, you’ll return to Puno by motorboat, arriving at your hotel in the evening to rest and reflect on the day’s enriching experiences.

Travel notes: Lake Titicaca sits around 3,800 m; move steadily on the 567-step ascent on Taquile. Wear comfortable shoes with good grip, use high-SPF sunscreen, and carry water and a hat—UV can be strong even with cloud cover.

Practical notes: Pack a light day bag for the boat (cash in PEN for crafts/snacks, a light layer, rain shell). Paths can be uneven; follow your guide’s pacing and regroup points. Boat schedules are weather-dependent—it’s normal for timings to vary slightly.

Day 9 : PUNO TO CUSCO → A SCENIC JOURNEY THROUGH THE HEART OF THE ANDES (SHARED SERVICE)

A transportation service will pick you up from your hotel at the scheduled time and transfer you to the bus station, where a representative will assist you. In the morning, embark on a scenic journey from Puno to Cusco by bus, passing through some of the most spectacular locations along the way. Highlights include the charming town of Andahuaylillas, home to its renowned church, the impressive Temple of Wiracocha, and La Raya, the highest point of the route at an elevation of 4,313 meters above sea level, marking the boundary between Cusco and Puno.

The bus ride ensures comfort and entertainment with its heating system, bilingual guides in English and Spanish, TV/video facilities, an interactive video of the route, GPS, free WiFi, and hot drinks available on request. Midway through the journey, enjoy a delightful lunch buffet at a local restaurant, savoring regional flavors while soaking in the scenic surroundings.

Upon arrival in Cusco, a transportation service with a guide will greet you at the bus station and transfer you to your hotel, ensuring a seamless transition into the vibrant heart of Peru’s historical capital.

Day plan: This is a full-day intercity journey with scenic and cultural stops (Andahuaylillas, Temple of Wiracocha, La Raya pass). Expect photo breaks and time for the lunch buffet before continuing to Cusco, where your guide will meet you on arrival.

Practical notes: You’ll travel at altitude (up to 4,313 m at La Raya)—hydrate, move steadily, and carry layers, sunscreen, hat and sunglasses. Keep a small day bag with passport, medication and water; larger luggage rides in the coach hold. Wi-Fi availability can vary along the route.

Day 10 : CUSCO TO MACHU PICCHU → UNVEILING THE MYSTERIES OF THE INCA EMPIRE (SHARED SERVICE)

In the morning, you will be transferred from your hotel in Cusco to the Ollantaytambo train station, where your journey to Machu Picchu begins. Enjoy a scenic train ride to Aguas Calientes, also known as “Machu Picchu Pueblo,” which takes approximately two hours. This charming town is the last stop before entering Peru’s most iconic archaeological site.

In Aguas Calientes, you will find the railway station, a vibrant crafts market, local restaurants, and accommodations for those wishing to spend the night at the foot of the mountain. After a short bus transfer from Aguas Calientes, you will arrive at Machu Picchu, an awe-inspiring masterpiece of Inca engineering and architecture. Believed to have served as a sanctuary and retreat for the Inca Pachacutec (1438–1572), Machu Picchu is one of the most significant archaeological sites in the world.

Translated as “Old Mountain,” Machu Picchu is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Once inside the citadel, you may optionally visit landmarks such as the Intipunku (Sun Gate), Wayna Picchu (subject to availability), and the Inca Bridge, each offering unique perspectives on this iconic site.

In the afternoon, return by train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo, followed by a bus transfer back to your hotel in Cusco.

Day plan: Morning transfer to Ollantaytambo for the scenic train (~2 hrs) to Aguas Calientes, shuttle bus (~25–30 mins) to the citadel, guided exploration, then afternoon return by train to Ollantaytambo and road transfer back to Cusco.

Practical notes:

Carry your passport (needed for train and Machu Picchu entry). Entry operates on timed circuits; restrooms are outside the gate—plan breaks before entering.

Train luggage limits are strict (typically a small daypack ~5–7 kg). Leave main baggage at your Cusco/Valley hotel.

Wayna Picchu/Intipunku/Inca Bridge require separate, limited tickets and are subject to availability.

Sun can be strong; bring high-SPF sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, water and insect repellent. Expect steps/uneven paths; wear supportive footwear.

Day 11 : CUSCO LEISURE DAY → EXPLORE AT YOUR OWN PACE IN THE HEART OF THE ANDES

Enjoy a day of leisure to explore the enchanting city of Cusco at your own pace. Stroll through its picturesque streets, immerse yourself in the vibrant culture, or visit its many historical landmarks, including colonial-era cathedrals and Inca ruins. Alternatively, you may choose to unwind and rejuvenate at your hotel, soaking in the serene ambiance and reflecting on your journey.

Travel notes: Cusco sits at approximately 3,400 m; move at a gentle pace, stay hydrated and wear high-SPF sunscreen. Cobbled streets and uneven pavements are common—comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

Practical notes: Carry a small amount of PEN cash for markets and smaller cafes; many museums/monuments observe midday closures—check hours locally. Keep a photo ID or passport copy with you and the original in your hotel safe.

Optional experience (book via online journey): Full-Day Sacred Valley Tour from Cusco (Shared Service)

Discover the beauty and history of the Sacred Valley, visiting the colourful Pisac market, traditional Andean villages, and the impressive Inca ruins at Ollantaytambo — all while travelling through some of Peru’s most stunning scenery. Booking note: Available to add during the online booking journey under Add-ons (subject to availability).

Day 12 : CUSCO TO LIMA BY FLIGHT → A SCENIC JOURNEY FROM THE ANDES TO THE COAST

In the morning, you will be transferred to the airport by a driver-only service for your flight to Lima, marking the next step in your Peruvian adventure.

Upon your arrival in Lima, a transportation service will be waiting to transfer you from the airport to your hotel. This service is also provided by a driver-only arrangement, ensuring a smooth and timely journey to your accommodation.

Transfer notes: “Driver-only” means no guide accompanies the transfer. Please be ready in the hotel lobby at the scheduled pick-up time; your driver will assist with luggage and check-in drop-off at the airport. On arrival in Lima, follow signs to the public arrivals hall and look for your name board to meet the driver.
