Early this morning, you may choose to take an optional scenic flight towards Mount Everest and the Himalayan ranges. After breakfast, begin your included sightseeing of Kathmandu with a visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square, the historic heart of the old city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The square is home to a collection of temples, courtyards and traditional buildings reflecting the architectural and cultural heritage of the Kathmandu Valley.

Continue to Swayambhunath, an important Buddhist pilgrimage site situated on a hill overlooking the Kathmandu Valley. Often referred to as the Monkey Temple, the complex is centred around its distinctive white stupa and includes a number of shrines and temples.

Later, visit Boudhanath Stupa, one of Nepal's most important Buddhist sites and a centre of Tibetan Buddhist culture in Kathmandu. You will have time to explore the area around the stupa before returning to your hotel.

In the afternoon, visit Davis Falls, where water flows into an underground gorge, before continuing to the nearby Gupteshwar Mahadev Cave, a natural cave containing a shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Later, enjoy a Tharu cultural programme, offering an introduction to the traditional music and dance of the Tharu community, who have lived in Nepal's Terai region for generations.

After breakfast, begin your included activities in Chitwan National Park with a canoe ride along the river, offering opportunities to observe the surrounding landscape, birdlife and, with luck, crocodiles in their natural habitat.

Continue with a guided jungle walk accompanied by a local naturalist, providing an opportunity to learn more about the flora and fauna of the Chitwan area. The exact route and duration of the walk will be determined locally according to conditions on the day.

Return to your hotel and enjoy lunch, followed by some time to relax.

In the afternoon, set out on an included jeep safari in the national park. Chitwan is home to a variety of wildlife, including the greater one-horned rhinoceros, deer, monkeys, crocodiles and numerous species of birds.
