Mongolia is a land of miracles! There are no fences on this vast land, horsemen and animals roam free here! Traveling overland in safari style, you will visit the ancient capital at Kharkhorin, where you will visit the legendary 15th-century ErdeneZuu monastery. Then you visit the vast expanses of the Gobi Desert, where a three-day circuit explores the lofty sand dunes of Khongoriin Els, the glacial canyon of Yolyn Am, and the red cliffs of Bayanzag, where the world’s richest deposits of dinosaur fossils are found. You will have the chance to visit families of nomads, remote Buddhist monasteries, and traditional events, and to take part in horse-riding or guided walking if you wish – there are also endless opportunities for photography. We will pick you up from the airport and take you to the hotel. After lunch, we will visit the National History Museum and Sukhbaatar Square and see a Mongolian traditional concert at 6pm. Take you to the hotel**** “Ramada” or a similar one.
Overnight stay at the hotel.We will pick you up at 8.30am and drive to Baga Gazariin Chully which is the astonishing granitic formations. It is located in the northwest of the province of Dundgovi, in the heart of the steppe, 250 km (155,34 miles) towards the south of Ulaanbaatar, in the sum of Delgertsogt.
Overnight stay in Ger camp (250kms- about 4-5 hours driving)Today we will fly back to UB at 8.30 am and drive to Tsagaan Suvarga. The scarp of Tsagaan Suvarga is located in Ulziit soum of Dundgobi province. It is interesting to see the sheer slope, facing east, which from the cliff is 30 meters high and 100 meters wide. Over thousands of years, the wind has created this amazing structure.
Overnight stay in Ger camp (about 300 kms- About 5 hours driving)In the morning we will drive to Yol Valley (Vulture Canyon). The Vulture Canyon nestles between the beautiful peaks of Gurvansaikhan of the Three Beauties. After arrival at the canyon, we will take a 2-hour hike through the canyon. On our way in/out of the park, we can visit the local Natural History Museum where petrified trees and a snow leopard are on display.
Overnight stay in Ger camp (about 230 kms- About 4 hours driving)Today we will drive to Khongor sand dunes. At 28 m in height, the giant sand dunes stretch lengthwise some 180 kms. Sometimes the area is only several hundred meters wide but can grow to 7-20 kms. We will hike to the top of the sand dunes. It is possible to do camel riding. It is around 15 USD per person per hour.
Overnight stay in Ger camp (about 180 kms- About 4 hours driving)Visit to the Bayanzag area. Known as a Flaming Cliffs "Cradle of Dinosaurs' this is where the first nest of dinosaur eggs ever discovered was found in 1922. A site famous for the remains of dinosaurs that lived here 60 million years ago. You can walk around where dinosaurs once roamed and see saxaul trees and other classic desert vegetation.
Stay in Ger camp (About 150kms- about 3-4hours driving)Today. we will drive to Ongi temple. The monastery, with its temple Damba Darjaalan Sum, was built in the late 18th century to commemorate the first-ever visit to Mongolia by the Dalai Lama. The monastery was once the largest monastery in South Mongolia and was used by about 500 monks. It was the only monastery out of nine in the immediate vicinity to survive the Stalinist purges - by becoming a warehouse and shop. The monastery was reopened in 1990 and the current Dalai Lama visited in 1992.
Overnight stay in Ger camp (About 150kms- about 3-4hours driving)In the morning, we will drive to the Karakorum, the site of the ancient capital of the Great Mongolian Empire. The city served as the Mongolian capital for only 40 years (until when Khubilai Khaan moved it to what is now Beijing). Most of the city was later destroyed by Chinese soldiers during the second half of the 14th century. The remnants of the city were used to build the ErdeneZuu Monastery in the 16th century.
Overnight stay in Ger camp (about 280kms – About 6 hours driving)Today we will drive to Khustai NP. The park lies in the foothills of the southern Khentii mountain range and it is the place where you can see a wild horse called Takhi known as the Przewalski horse to the world. Wild horses survive in nature by themselves because they have been reintroduced successfully to their homeland after 40 years of extinction. Currently, the number of Takhi has already reached more than 300.
Overnight stay in Ger camp (about 300 kms- - About 4 hours driving)We will drive to Terelj National Park. In the National Park, we will do a short hike to the temple and see the Turtle rock. We will drive back to UB. On the way to UB, we will visit the Chingis Khaan Equestrian statue which is the highest one in the world.

“Lumle Holiday in Nepal”
Myself and a friend, both aged 23, organised a trip to Nepal with Lumle. Right from the start of organising the holiday Narayan, the company owner who is also Nepalese, was incredibly helpful and thorough. He was able to shape our itinerary to exactly what we wanted to do. Our trip involved a day in Kathmandu, bus to Pokhara where we would start our 9 day trek to Annapurna base camp, followed by a few days in Chitwan National Park before returning to Kathmandu.
He sent all the holiday information to us on time with a detailed itinerary and kit list. All of our transfers worked perfectly and the drivers and guides as well as Madhu, the Lumle contact in Kathmandu, were very welcoming and friendly. The accomodation we stayed in was excellent.
Unfortunately during the trek my friend fell ill and we had to be helicoptered from the mountain back to Kathmandu. Both Madhu and Narayan were in contact throughout the process. Madhu visited us in hospital twice a day and was always contactable via his mobile. Narayan would even ring us every day to check we were doing alright. We then discussed with them the different options for what to do for the rest of our time in Nepal once out of the hospital and they were incredibly flexible and helpful giving us advice. They also arranged our subsequent excursions at cost-price which was very generous of them.
I couldn’t recommend Lumle more and I would definitely book a holiday through them again!
