Day 3 : DISCOVER LIMA → A CAPTIVATING CITY TOUR (SHARED SERVICE)

In the morning, embark on a journey through Lima’s historic old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its wealth of fascinating historic buildings. Begin with a scenic tour of the colonial downtown, radiating from the iconic Main Square. Here, marvel at the grandiose architecture of the Spanish Empire, including ornate balconies, imposing government buildings, and cultural landmarks.

Stroll to the magnificent Cathedral of Lima, an architectural masterpiece that began construction in the 16th century and took 80 years to complete. Next, visit the enchanting Casa Aliaga, a colonial mansion granted in 1535 by Francisco Pizarro to Jerónimo de Aliaga, one of his loyal captains. This historic gem is the only house from that era still owned by the same family after nearly five centuries, offering a rare glimpse into Peru’s colonial heritage.

Continue your exploration at the Larco Museum, nestled in the charming Pueblo Libre district. Housed within a beautifully restored viceregal mansion built atop a seventh-century pre-Columbian pyramid, the museum showcases the most comprehensive pre-Hispanic collection of gold and silver artifacts, alongside an intriguing array of erotic art. This visit provides a profound insight into Peru’s ancient civilizations and their artistry.

Travel notes: Comfortable walking shoes are recommended; some areas have uneven paving. Dress modestly for the Cathedral (shoulders/knees covered), carry sunscreen and water, and keep valuables secure in busy plazas.

Practical notes: Your guide manages entrances and timings; photography may be restricted in parts of Casa Aliaga and the Larco Museum—please check on arrival. Allow extra time for city traffic between sites.

Day 4 : FLY LIMA → AREQUIPA – TRANSFERS, LEISURE DAY & OPTIONAL CITY TOUR (SHARED)

The route takes you through Vizcachani, the Pampas de Toccra, and up to the crater of the Chucura Volcano. You’ll ascend further to the Mirador de los Andes at Patapampa, standing at an altitude of 4,800 meters above sea level, where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the volcanoes surrounding Arequipa.

Lunch in Chivay, then afternoon at leisure—rest at your hotel or opt for the thermal springs. Pack layers for altitude, sun protection, and water.

Day 6 : COLCA CANYON TO PUNO → CRUZ DEL CóNDOR & SCENIC ANDEAN HIGHLANDS JOURNEY (SHARED SERVICE)

A new day brings more stunning visual experiences. Begin with a visit to the renowned Cruz del Cóndor, a breathtaking viewpoint offering unparalleled views of the Colca Valley, the second deepest canyon in the world, plunging more than 4 kilometers at its deepest point. Here, marvel at the majestic Andean condors, soaring gracefully just meters away.

Continue your journey by exploring the picturesque villages of Pinchollo, Maca, Achoma, and Yanque, each showcasing unique cultural and architectural charm. Stop at the scenic vantage points of Antahuilque and Choquetico, offering stunning perspectives of the valley and its terraced landscapes as you make your way back to Chivay.

From Chivay, you will depart for Puno, taking the scenic route through Patahuasi. Along the way, witness extraordinary natural beauty, including petrified forests and vibrant blue lakes teeming with flamingos, all at an elevation of over 4,000 meters above sea level. After approximately six hours of travel, you will arrive in Puno, the gateway to Lake Titicaca.

Day plan: Early departure recommended for the best chance of condor sightings at Cruz del Cóndor. Scenic stops through Colca’s villages and viewpoints, then continue on the high-altitude route to Puno (approx. 6 hours including comfort/photo stops).

Practical notes: You’ll travel between 4,000–4,800 m; hydrate, pace yourself and carry layers (sun, wind and cool temps). Bring sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, water and small cash for restrooms/snacks. Roads are paved but winding—motion sickness tablets if needed.

Day 7 : PUNO TO UROS & TAQUILE ISLANDS → DISCOVER THE LIVING TRADITIONS OF LAKE TITICACA (SHARED SERVICE)

After breakfast at your hotel in Puno, set out on a captivating excursion across the shimmering waters of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. Today’s experience invites you to explore two of the lake’s most remarkable island communities — the extraordinary Floating Islands of the Uros and the culturally rich Taquile Island.

Your journey begins with a scenic boat ride to the Uros floating islands, ingeniously constructed from layers of totora reeds that grow abundantly in the lake. The Uros are believed to be among the earliest inhabitants of the region, with ancestral roots stretching back thousands of years. During your visit, you will gain insight into their traditional way of life, observe how the islands are maintained, and step inside their reed homes to better understand this unique lakeside culture.

Continuing across the vast blue expanse of Lake Titicaca, you will arrive at Taquile Island, renowned for its spectacular landscapes and deep-rooted traditions. Recognised by UNESCO for the preservation of its textile artistry, Taquile offers sweeping views of the lake framed by distant snow-capped Andean peaks. Here, local customs remain strong, and community life is centred around ancient agricultural terraces and intricate handwoven garments that carry symbolic meaning.

Enjoy a traditional lunch with local islanders, often accompanied by gentle music and cultural performances that reflect the island’s proud heritage. After time to explore and appreciate the serene surroundings, return by boat to Puno in the afternoon, carrying with you a deeper understanding of the living traditions of the Andean highlands.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

Travel notes: Lake Titicaca sits at approximately 3,800 m above sea level. We recommend walking at a gentle pace, staying well hydrated, and using high-SPF sunscreen. Comfortable walking shoes are advisable for the paths on Taquile Island.

Day 8 : PUNO TO CUSCO → A SCENIC JOURNEY THROUGH THE HEART OF THE ANDES (SHARED SERVICE)

A transportation service will pick you up from your hotel at the scheduled time and transfer you to the bus station, where a representative will assist you. In the morning, embark on a scenic journey from Puno to Cusco by bus, passing through some of the most spectacular locations along the way. Highlights include the charming town of Andahuaylillas, home to its renowned church, the impressive Temple of Wiracocha, and La Raya, the highest point of the route at an elevation of 4,313 meters above sea level, marking the boundary between Cusco and Puno.

The bus ride ensures comfort and entertainment with its heating system, bilingual guides in English and Spanish, TV/video facilities, an interactive video of the route, GPS, free WiFi, and hot drinks available on request. Midway through the journey, enjoy a delightful lunch buffet at a local restaurant, savoring regional flavors while soaking in the scenic surroundings.

Upon arrival in Cusco, a transportation service with a guide will greet you at the bus station and transfer you to your hotel, ensuring a seamless transition into the vibrant heart of Peru’s historical capital.

Day plan: This is a full-day intercity journey with scenic and cultural stops (Andahuaylillas, Temple of Wiracocha, La Raya pass). Expect photo breaks and time for the lunch buffet before continuing to Cusco, where your guide will meet you on arrival.

Practical notes: You’ll travel at altitude (up to 4,313 m at La Raya)—hydrate, move steadily, and carry layers, sunscreen, hat and sunglasses. Keep a small day bag with passport, medication and water; larger luggage rides in the coach hold. Wi-Fi availability can vary along the route.

Day 9 : CUSCO LEISURE DAY → EXPLORE AT YOUR OWN PACE IN THE HEART OF THE ANDES

Enjoy a day of leisure to explore the enchanting city of Cusco at your own pace. Stroll through its picturesque streets, immerse yourself in the vibrant culture, or visit its many historical landmarks, including colonial-era cathedrals and Inca ruins. Alternatively, you may choose to unwind and rejuvenate at your hotel, soaking in the serene ambiance and reflecting on your journey.

Travel notes: Cusco sits at approximately 3,400 m; move at a gentle pace, stay hydrated and wear high-SPF sunscreen. Cobbled streets and uneven pavements are common—comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

Practical notes: Carry a small amount of PEN cash for markets and smaller cafes; many museums/monuments observe midday closures—check hours locally. Keep a photo ID or passport copy with you and the original in your hotel safe.

Optional experience (book via online journey): Full-Day Sacred Valley Tour from Cusco (Shared Service)

As you walk through its terraces, temples and ceremonial spaces, your guide will bring to life the history, mystery and cultural significance of this remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
