Day 1 : DEPART NEW YORK → BUENOS AIRES (OVERNIGHT FLIGHT)

Your Argentina tour begins this evening at NEW YORK. Glide through departures, breathe in that pre-journey buzz, and settle into your long-haul seat bound for Buenos Aires (Ezeiza). As city lights recede beneath the wing, ease into the rhythm of travel—film cued, blanket tucked, a glass of something calming in hand—ready for an overnight flight to Argentina that arrives tomorrow.

Travel Notes — Timing & Flow
Check in online 24 hours ahead to secure preferred seats. Aim to arrive at the airport 3 hours before departure for smooth bag-drop and security. Set your watch to GMT−3 after take-off to start syncing with Buenos Aires time.

Packing & Documents — Quick Wins
Keep passports, e-tickets, and hotel/address details in your personal item for easy access. Pack a small “freshen-up kit” (toothbrush, facial wipes, lip balm, spare top) and place power banks in carry-on only. Hydration sachets and a reusable bottle help you arrive brighter.

Wellbeing — Jet-Lag Softener
After the first meal service, dim your screen and switch to a sleep playlist. Alternate light stretches with short walks down the aisle every 60–90 minutes. Choose water or herbal tea; keep caffeine and alcohol modest to land fresher in Buenos Aires.

Seat & Sleep Tips
Select a window seat if you sleep better without aisle traffic; choose aisle for easier movement. Wear breathable layers (T-shirt + light knit + scarf) to adjust to cabin temperature. Use an eye mask and neck pillow; set a gentle alarm 45 minutes before breakfast to wake gradually.

Baggage & Security Reminders
Liquids must be ≤100 ml in a single clear bag; keep electronics accessible for screening. Fragile items and medications should never go in checked luggage; carry a photo of your passport and insurance on your phone as backup.

On Board — Set the Scene for Argentina
Queue a tango playlist, skim a city guide to Recoleta, Palermo and San Telmo, and mark a few cafés for your first cortado. Close your eyes to the engine’s soft hum—by dawn you’ll be descending over the pampas toward the city of wide boulevards and late-night charm.

Day 2 : ARRIVAL IN BUENOS AIRES (AEROPARQUE JORGE NEWBERY)

Touch down in Argentina’s capital and meet our representative at Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP). A smooth private transfer whisks you to your hand-picked hotel in one of the city’s most characterful barrios. Check in, freshen up, and let the rhythm of Buenos Aires set the tone for your adventure.

Arrival Notes — Airports & Transfers
• This program includes arrival assistance and transfer for guests landing at Aeroparque (AEP).
Ezeiza (EZE) arrivals: transfer is not included by default and is available as an optional extra (quote on request).
• Average drive times: AEP → central hotels ~20–35 mins; EZE → central hotels ~45–75 mins depending on traffic.

At Leisure — First Tastes of the City
Ease into porteño life with a gentle stroll in Recoleta (Belle Époque façades, leafy plazas and café terraces) or explore cobbled San Telmo for antiques arcades and street art. If energy allows, wander the parks of Palermo—rose gardens, lakes and wide paths perfect for resetting after the flight.

Practical Tip — Money, SIM & Safety
• Carry a mix of cards and small pesos; many restaurants accept cards but kiosks often prefer cash.
• Consider a local eSIM/SIM for maps and ride-hailing; keep passports/valuables zipped and use hotel safes.
• Dinner starts late here; a light merienda (coffee + pastry) helps bridge to an 8:30–10:30 pm mealtime.

Food & Culture — Easy Wins for Night One
• Try a neighbourhood parrilla for steak, provoleta and malbec—or go light with empanadas and salads.
• Book a relaxed tango show (no late finish) or simply people-watch in a classic café on Avenida de Mayo.

Wellbeing — Shake Off Jet Lag
Stretch the legs with a 30–45 minute park walk, hydrate, and align your watch to GMT−3. Keep caffeine modest after mid-afternoon and aim for an early night.

Overnight: Buenos Aires (hotel to be confirmed at booking).

Day 3 : BUENOS AIRES CITY TOUR & DINNER WITH LIVE TANGO

After breakfast, meet your expert guide for a curated immersion into the soul of Buenos Aires. Begin among lakes, rose gardens and towering palms in the city’s largest green space, Tres de Febrero Park, gliding past the historic racecourse and the prestigious polo grounds. Continue to Plaza Italia and trace porteño history with photo stops at Plaza de Mayo—epicentre of Argentina’s key civic moments—before wandering the cobbles of San Telmo and the colour-splashed alleyways of La Boca, where street artists and the striped façades of Caminito buzz with energy.

A reflective pause in elegant Recoleta invites a visit to the world-renowned Recoleta Cemetery (optional entrance), a labyrinth of ornate mausoleums that safeguard the stories of Argentina’s luminaries. Nearby architectural jewels include the serene Iglesia del Pilar and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Throughout the tour, you’ll sweep along the city’s grand avenues—Corrientes, Avenida de Mayo, 9 de Julio, Alvear and Del Libertador—linking the refined parks of Palermo, stately Recoleta and the glassy waterfront of Puerto Madero. Iconic sightlines frame the Obelisk, Lezama Park and the riverside Ecological Reserve, while your guide points out the commercial and financial districts that power the city’s daily rhythm.

Travel Notes — Pacing & Comfort
• Gentle walking with short drives between districts; wear cushioned shoes for cobbles in San Telmo and La Boca.
• Midday can be warm: carry a reusable water bottle, sunscreen and light layer.
Recoleta Cemetery entrance is optional and paid locally; photography is welcomed—be mindful near services.

Return to the hotel for a refresh before an evening steeped in dance, music and flavour. Around 6:00 PM, you’ll be collected for an unforgettable tango & folklore dinner show at El Aljibe, a beautifully restored early-20th-century conventillo (tenement house) that preserves the city’s immigrant spirit. During its meticulous restoration, a 17th-century well was uncovered, lending historic texture to the venue’s brick arches and courtyards.

Curtains rise on a vibrant production with 15 performers: a live quartet led by maestro Carlos Buono, a soulful singer, and three couples delivering the taut embrace and lightning footwork of tango. The programme embraces Argentina’s regional heartbeat too—a rousing malambo interlude with boleadoras, ponchos and drums. Between acts, savour a three-course dinner of classic Argentine and international dishes paired with local wines. After the finale, a comfortable transfer returns you to your hotel.

Practical Tip — Seating, Dietaries & Dress
• Doors typically open before the show; earlier arrival improves table placement—ask us to note any preferred seating.
• Advise dietary requirements in advance (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free options available).
• Dress smart-casual and bring a light layer—venues can be cool with air-conditioning.

Culture — Make It Deeper
• Consider adding a pre-show tango class (fun, beginner-friendly) to feel the cadence before you watch the pros.
• In San Telmo, look for artisan markets (weekends) and heritage cafés—perfect for a late-afternoon cortado.

Day 4 : BUENOS AIRES AT LEISURE + OPTIONAL TIGRE DELTA EXPERIENCE

After breakfast, the day is yours to savour Buenos Aires at your own rhythm. Revisit favourite barrios, browse artisan markets for local crafts, linger over a cortado in a heritage café, or simply wander tree-lined boulevards to soak up the city’s soul. If you’d like to add light exploration beyond the capital, consider our optional Half-Day Delta Classic: Boat Navigation & Tigre City Experience (not included).

Easy Ideas for a Perfect Free Day
Recoleta & Alvear: Belle Époque façades, gallery browsing, and elegant window-shopping.
San Telmo: Antiques arcades, street art corners, and alfajores to go (best on weekends).
Palermo Parks: Rose Garden loops, lakeside paths, and contemporary design stores in Palermo Soho.
Puerto Madero: Waterfront strolls at golden hour; bridge views and sleek restaurants.
Food Finds: From classic parrillas to modern bodegones—ask us for a short-list near your hotel.

Practical Tip — Getting Around
Use reputable ride-hailing apps or licensed radio taxis; keep small pesos for kiosks/markets. Museums and boutiques often close for a midday lull—check hours before you set out. Carry a light layer for strong air-conditioning indoors.

Optional Excursion (AM) — Half-Day Delta Classic: Boat Navigation & Tigre City Experience
Pick-up 08:00 • Duration ~5 hours • Gentle pace • Suitable for all ages

Slip away from the city’s buzz to the green world of the Tigre Delta. Begin with a tranquil one-hour boat ride threading a maze of rivers and lush islands. Traditional stilt houses, modest schools and chapels reveal the rhythm of island life as you glide past reed beds and willow shade. An onboard audio guide adds colour with stories of the Delta’s ecology, history and river culture.

Back on shore, explore the compact charms of Tigre City: stroll Victorica Avenue with its riverside cafés, dip into the lively Puerto de Frutos market for woven baskets and artisan woodwork, admire the historic City Council façade, and wander the manicured gardens of the Tigre Art Museum. With plentiful cafés and waterside terraces, there’s ample time for a coffee or a cool lemonade before returning to Buenos Aires.

What to Bring — Delta Mini-Checklist
• Comfortable walking shoes with good grip for boardwalks and market lanes.
Sun protection (hat, SPF, sunglasses) and a light breathable layer for the boat breeze.
• Small cash for market purchases and café stops; card acceptance varies by stall.

Good to Know — Pacing & Access
Gentle walking with frequent pauses; suitable for families and multi-generational groups. Boats have shaded seating; pier steps can be uneven—assistance is provided as needed.

Baggage: domestic allowances can be stricter than long-haul; keep valuables, meds and a warm layer in your carry-on.
Seat tip: right-hand window often enjoys Andes/Channel views on approach (routing/weather dependent).

At Leisure — First Look at the End of the World
Settle in and take a gentle harbour stroll along the Beagle Channel; watch for skimming imperial cormorants and the distant blink of lighthouse beacons. Duck into a cosy café for a submarino (hot milk with molten chocolate) or sample fresh centolla (king crab) at a local restaurant—simple, briny and iconic to Ushuaia.

What to Pack for Patagonia (Today & Tomorrow)
Layer up: breathable base • fleece or light down • windproof/waterproof shell • beanie/buff • gloves • sturdy walking shoes with tread. Weather changes fast—sun, squalls and gusts can share the same hour.

Museo Marítimo & Presidio: maritime lore and the region’s bold exploration stories—great for a cool/wet afternoon.

Practical Tip — Dining & Bookings
Ushuaia is compact and popular; reserve dinner spots for king crab or black hake. Many kitchens open from ~7:30–8:00 pm; cafés serve hearty soups and pastries all day.

Note: If your ticketed departure in Buenos Aires uses Ezeiza (EZE) instead of Aeroparque (AEP), your private airport transfer will be arranged accordingly; timings will be adjusted to match the included flight.

Overnight: Ushuaia.

Day 6 : USHUAIA: TIERRA DEL FUEGO NATIONAL PARK (HALF DAY)

After breakfast, set out along National Route 3—just 11 km from town—to the southernmost protected area in Argentina: Tierra del Fuego National Park. It’s the country’s only park where coastal fjords meet mountain peaks, with river valleys and mirror-like lakes spilling towards the Beagle Channel. With your naturalist guide, explore signature stops including Río Pipo, Monte Susana, the jade waters of Lago Acigami (formerly Roca), the Alakush Visitor Centre, moss-fringed Laguna Verde, and wind-curled Bahía Lapataia—the iconic endpoint of the Pan-American Highway.

Travel Notes — Pacing & Terrain
• Gentle short walks on formed paths with frequent photo stops (weather permitting).
• Surfaces can be damp with roots and peat; supportive footwear with tread is recommended.
• Typical touring time is ~4–5 hours door-to-door, keeping the afternoon free to relax in Ushuaia.

The sub-Antarctic southern beech (Nothofagus) forest shelters a lively cast of wildlife. Keep an eye out for the shy Fuegian red fox and a rich birdlife list: chattering cachaña (Austral parakeet), drumming Magellanic woodpecker (the “giant” of the forest), nimble rayadito, Patagonian thrush, and—if you’re lucky—the emblematic cauquén caranca (Kelp goose), symbol of the Park, grazing at the water’s edge.

Wildlife Spotter — Quick Wins
Lago Acigami: scan stony shores for kelp geese and steamer ducks; glassy mornings are best.
Laguna Verde: listen for woodpecker knocks in lenga and coihue stands; look for fresh wood chips at tree bases.
Bahía Lapataia: fox tracks on soft peat; bring binoculars for distant shorebirds.

Practical Tips — Weather & What to Bring
Layer up: breathable base, fleece/light down, windproof/waterproof shell; pack a beanie and thin gloves year-round.
Footwear: lightweight hiking shoes/boots with grip; avoid smooth soles on wet boardwalks.
Daypack: reusable bottle, snacks, SPF, sunglasses (glare off water), and a small dry bag for phone/camera.
Eco-etiquette: stay on trails to protect peat bogs; never feed wildlife.

Make It Yours — Optional Add-On
“End of the World” Post Office & Train: subject to schedule, add a photo stop at the tiny post office near Ensenada Bay, or ride a short sector of the Tren del Fin del Mundo through peatlands and beaver meadows (extra cost; advance booking recommended).

Round out the visit with a reflective moment at the Pan-American Highway sign in Bahía Lapataia—a satisfying “edge of the map” snapshot—before returning to Ushuaia. The rest of the day is free to warm up with a submarino or sample fresh centolla (king crab) by the harbour.

Overnight: Ushuaia.

Day 7 : USHUAIA AT LEISURE + OPTIONAL EXPERIENCES

After breakfast, enjoy a full day to explore Ushuaia—the southernmost city on Earth—at your own pace. Wander the waterfront for views across the Beagle Channel, browse artisan boutiques along Avenida San Martín, or settle into a café for king crab chowder and a rich submarino (melted chocolate in hot milk). If you’d like to deepen your Patagonia experience, choose from our curated optional excursions (not included) below.

Easy Ideas for a Free Day

Museo del Fin del Mundo and the Maritime & Prison Museum for Fuegian history and exploration lore.

• Slow stroll to the Bahía Encerrada reserve—great light for photos on calm days.

Optional Full-Day — Fueguinian Lakes & Andes Crossing
Hotel pick-up 08:30 • ~8 hours • Gentle scenic touring with short strolls

Depart north on Route 3 to Mirador Valle Carbajal for sweeping vistas over russet peat bogs framed by serrated ridgelines and distant glaciers. Pause at a cosy winter centre, then continue to Paso Garibaldi, the southernmost road crossing of the Andes. By mid-morning, reach Puesto La Carmen for a hot drink before a leisurely lakeshore walk at Lago Fagnano—known to the Selk’nam/Ona as “The Rest of the Horizon” for the way its mirrored surface slices the mountain skyline. Around midday, crest the Garibaldi Pass viewpoint to gaze down on jade-green Lago Escondido, cupped in a steep-sided valley. Expect a day rich in lookouts, photo stops and quiet moments with the Fuegian landscape.

What to Bring — Lakes Day

Optional Half-Day (Private) — City Highlights & Martial Glacier
Min 2 pax • Hotel pick-up 08:00 • ~4 hours • Gentle walking + viewpoints

Unpack the story of Ushuaia with your local guide: panoramic stop at Mirador Las Hayas, sweeping views of Ushuaia Bay, the heritage lanes of La Misión Anglicana, and the wetland mirror of Bahía Encerrada. Cruise past shopfronts on Avenida San Martín, step into Nuestra Señora de la Merced church, and—time permitting—touch on the Museo del Fin del Mundo and the Maritime Museum (former prison). Finish above town at Glaciar Martial for alpine air and knockout views over rooftops, channel and islands; short, steady paths lead to brilliant photo perches.

Practical Tips — Bookings & Access
• These excursions are not included; pre-booking secures preferred times and private guiding.
• City tour venues may rotate based on opening hours—your guide will optimise pacing.
Martial Glacier paths can have loose gravel/patchy ice outside summer; trainers with grip are sufficient for viewpoint walks.

Foodie Note

The remainder of the day is free to stroll the lakeside paths, breathe the high-country air and ease into the slower rhythm of this frontier town on the shores of Lago Argentino.

Flight & Luggage — Handy Notes
Flight included: typically a non-stop sector of around ~1.5–2 hrs (subject to schedule).
Baggage: domestic allowances can be tighter than long-haul; keep meds, valuables and a warm layer in your carry-on.
Seat tip: clear weather can reward right-hand window views of steppe and glacial lakes on approach (routing/weather dependent).

At Leisure — First Taste of El Calafate
Walk the Costanera promenade to watch Andean light play on Lago Argentino; detour to the reeds for birdlife (upland geese, flamingos in season). Swing by a confitería for alfajores, dulce de leche treats and a warming chocolate or mate. Browse artisan shops for woollens and leather—good picks for tomorrow’s glacier air.

After breakfast, enjoy a full day to savour El Calafate at your own rhythm. Stroll the town’s willow-lined streets, dip into artisan boutiques and cafés for alfajores and dulce de leche, or simply slow down on the lakeside paths as Andean light dances across Lago Argentino. If you’d like to explore further, choose one of our curated optional excursions (not included) below.

On clear days, sightlines stretch to the glacier accumulation zone and, far to the north, the iconic spires of Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre near El Chaltén. En route, encounter the otherworldly Laberinto de Piedras—a labyrinth of Cretaceous rock sculpted some 85 million years ago—and the curious Piedra de los Sombreros, rare iron concretions recorded in only a handful of places worldwide. It’s an easy-paced, highly photogenic outing perfect for all ages.

What to Bring — Balcón Mini-Checklist
• Layering: base + warm mid-layer + wind/waterproof shell (it can gust on ridgelines).
• Footwear: trainers or light hikers with tread (some gravel/dust).
• Essentials: reusable bottle, SPF, sunglasses (glare off the lake), lip balm, and a small dry bag for phone/camera.

Optional (Full Day) — El Chaltén with Viewpoints & Lunch
Min 2 pax • Hotel pick-up 08:00 • ~12 hours • Available Tue/Thu/Sat/Sun • Moderate 45-min walk

Follow legendary Ruta 40 along the shores of Lake Argentino and the Santa Cruz River, pausing at the historic La Leona Inn—a classic waypoint once frequented by explorers—for a hot drink and homemade cakes. Arrive in El Chaltén, Argentina’s trekking capital, and enjoy a relaxed lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, take a moderate 45-minute walk to the Mirador de los Cóndores for sweeping views over the Río de las Vueltas valley and the colourful roofs of El Chaltén, then continue to the Mirador de las Águilas to gaze across Lake Viedma, Bahía Túnel and Cerro Pirámide. It’s a big-sky day rich with classic Patagonia vistas.

Pacing & Terrain — El Chaltén Day
• Road transfers are broken with scenic/photo stops and a café pause at La Leona.
• Trails to both viewpoints are graded paths with steady but manageable elevation; suitable for most travellers with moderate fitness.
• Weather can change quickly—guides adjust order and duration to optimise views and comfort.

Practical Tips — Bookings, Gear & Comfort
• These excursions are not included; pre-booking secures preferred days (El Chaltén operates Tue/Thu/Sat/Sun).
• Pack layers and a light windproof/waterproof; bring a daypack with water, snacks and tissues.
• For photos, carry a microfibre cloth (Patagonian dust), spare battery and a wide-angle + short telephoto if available.

Overnight: El Calafate.

Day 10 : EL CALAFATE: PERITO MORENO GLACIER (FULL DAY)

After breakfast, set out from El Calafate for an unforgettable day at the Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the world’s few advancing glaciers and the star of Los Glaciares National Park (UNESCO). The scenic drive (~80 km / ~1.5 hrs) skirts the southern shore of Lago Argentino, with Andean foothills, open steppe and river flats giving way to floating icebergs as you approach the peninsula of walkways opposite the ice face.

What You’ll Do — The Classic Circuit
• Stroll the well-signed panoramic walkways (boardwalks + steps) for ever-changing angles of the 70-metre ice wall.
• Pause for the theatre of nature: the sharp cracks and thunderous calving as blue ice tumbles into the lake.
• Optional coffee/lunch break at the on-site café/restaurant complex (meals not included).
• Ample free time to explore multiple balconies at your own pace; your guide will point out the best vantage points for photos.

Optional Add-On — Nautical Safari (1 hour)
Departs: Bajo de las Sombras Pier (~7 km from the balconies) • Duration: ~1 hour
Board a comfortable catamaran to glide across Lago Rico to within ~400 metres of the glacier’s southern wall. From water level, the seracs, cornices and cobalt crevasses tower above—ideal for dramatic close-ups and (with luck) a front-row view of a calving event. This experience is not included in the base price; pre-booking is recommended in peak months.

Practical Tips — Comfort, Clothing & Camera
Layers win: breathable base, warm mid-layer and a wind/waterproof shell (micro-climates switch fast).
Footwear: trainers or light hikers with tread—some stairs/boardwalk sections can be damp.
Sun & glare: SPF, sunglasses and lip balm; the ice amplifies UV even on cool days.
Photos: carry a spare battery/memory card; a short telephoto (70–200mm) and a wide-angle make a great pairing.
Cash/card: park entrance is paid locally; café takes cards but keep small pesos just in case.

Good to Know — Access & Safety
• Walkways include stairs and ramps with frequent benches; take it slow and use handrails on windy sections.
• Stay behind barriers at all times; ice can calve without warning and waves travel fast.
• Weather can shift from sun to sleet—your driver keeps extra layers dry in the vehicle if you wish to rotate.

After ample time on the balconies (and the Nautical Safari if booked), return to El Calafate in the afternoon. Enjoy a relaxed evening in town—perhaps a parrilla dinner or Calafate-berry dessert to toast a day among Patagonia’s giants.

Overnight: El Calafate.

Day 11 : EL CALAFATE DEPARTURE

After breakfast, check out and meet your driver for a private transfer to Comandante Armando Tola International Airport (FTE). As the Patagonian steppe unfurls toward the runway, carry with you the blues of Perito Moreno, the hush of lenga forests and the wide skies of southern Patagonia—memories to last long after take-off.

Travel Notes — Timing & Check-in
Domestic flights: arrive ~2 hours before departure; airlines close bag-drop 45–60 mins prior.
International flights: arrive ~3 hours prior if connecting onward the same day.
• Keep boarding pass and ID/passport handy; some carriers request the credit card used for purchase.

Baggage & Souvenirs
• Domestic baggage limits can be tighter than long-haul—weigh checked bags and keep meds/valuables in carry-on.
• Liquids ≥100 ml must go in checked luggage (save that Calafate berry liqueur for the hold).
• Fragile crafts (mate gourds, ceramics) ride best in a padded tote or wrapped inside clothing.

Comfort — Last Little Wins
• Dress in layers: the terminal is warm, the aircraft can be cool.
• Hydrate and take a short walk before boarding; window seats offer lovely farewell views over Lago Argentino when weather allows.
• Download boarding passes and playlists on hotel Wi-Fi; mobile signal can fluctuate outside town.

If you’re connecting in Buenos Aires, follow signage for your next terminal (AEP for most domestic, EZE for many international flights) and allow ample transfer time. Wishing you a smooth journey onward—¡hasta pronto, Patagonia!

Routing Note — Connectivity Assurance
