Do I need any vaccinations ahead of travel?

Vaccination requirements keep changing, especially in a post-COVID world, hence, we suggest you check with your physician and Foreign and Commonwealth Office along with the nearest consulate or embassy to ensure you have all the vaccinations you need.

Is it safe to drink the tap water?

Please only drink bottled water and water that is clearly indicated at drinkable.

When is the best time to go?

Tanzania is driest from July to October, which is why these months are the absolute best time to travel. This is also the season when the migration river crossings take place and wildlife sighting offers the best chance to experience the diversity of Tanzania.

Between November and March, while quieter, has the possibility of rain showers. However, it is also a particularly good time for birdwatching.

Heavy rains take place throughout April and May and those are the months to avoid.

Do you need a visa?

Visa requirements have changed massively since the COVID-19 outbreak. Please check with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the nearest concerned embassy for the latest update.
