After breakfast, depart Quito and travel from the Andean highlands towards the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest. Along the way, you'll descend from an altitude of approximately 3,000 metres to 500 metres (9,843 ft to 1,640 ft), passing through changing landscapes as the cooler mountain climate gradually gives way to the warmer, more humid conditions of the Amazon Basin.

En route, stop at the Guacamayos (Macaw) Lookout, located between the Antisana and Sumaco National Reserves. Subject to weather conditions, this viewpoint offers views across the surrounding cloud forest and the eastern slopes leading towards the Amazon region.

Quito from Above – TelefériQo Cable Car & Panoramic Viewpoints

Later, travel to the TelefériQo cable car, which ascends the slopes of Pichincha Volcano to an altitude of approximately 4,000 metres (13,123 feet). The cable car provides access to one of the highest viewpoints overlooking Quito and the surrounding Andean landscape.

After breakfast, continue exploring Easter Island (Rapa Nui) with a guided tour of several sites associated with the island's cultural, archaeological and ceremonial history.

Your first visit is to Ahu Vinapu, where the stonework of the ceremonial platform has often been compared with Inca masonry due to its precise construction. Your guide will explain the different archaeological theories surrounding the site. You will also see a distinctive red scoria moai, one of the island's more unusual statues.

Continue to the summit of Rano Kau, the largest volcanic crater on Easter Island. Subject to weather conditions, there are views across the crater, its freshwater lake and the surrounding coastline. Your guide will explain the geological significance of this extinct volcano and its importance within the island's landscape.

Nearby, visit the ceremonial village of Orongo, where the annual Tangata Manu (Birdman) competition was held until the 19th century. Learn about the traditions associated with this important ceremony and the role it played in the leadership and culture of the Rapa Nui people. From Orongo, subject to weather conditions, there are views towards the offshore islets, including Motu Nui, which featured in the Birdman ceremony.

Following the tour, return to Hanga Roa. The remainder of the evening is at leisure. Depending on the weather and your preference, you may wish to visit Ahu Tahai or another coastal viewpoint to watch the sunset before returning to your hotel.

After breakfast, transfer to Mataveri International Airport for your scheduled flight from Easter Island (Rapa Nui) to Santiago.

Upon arrival in Santiago, you will be met by our local representative and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
