After breakfast, begin your guided exploration of Quito's historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognised for its exceptionally well-preserved colonial architecture and historical significance. Accompanied by your local guide, stroll through the city's historic streets while learning about Quito's rich history, culture and traditions.
Your tour includes visits to some of the city's best-known landmarks, including the ornate La Compañía de Jesús (Golden Church), San Francisco Square and the Main Square (Plaza Grande), home to the Presidential Palace and Quito Cathedral. Together, these historic buildings provide an insight into Ecuador's colonial heritage and architectural legacy.
You will also visit the traditional Cruz Verde confectionery workshop, where the same family has been producing the well-known Ecuadorian sweet known as Colaciones for more than 100 years. Learn about the traditional production process before sampling this local speciality.
Later, continue to the famous Equator Line, where you can stand with one foot in each hemisphere and, if operating on the day of your visit, try the popular egg-balancing demonstration. This visit provides an enjoyable introduction to one of Ecuador's most recognisable geographical landmarks.
