Cambodia is observed hot throughout the year, with very minimal rainfall between November to April. The best times to visit are Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb & Mar when humidity is low with lush greeneries and rivers with full water tights that make the country so colorful and vibrant.

Although humidity increases and there is rainfall for the rest of the months, it should not prevent you from enjoying Cambodia as you can find plenty of beauty in the countryside. January

January is the driest month of the year in Cambodia with and average temperature of 26 °C. You can expect good conditions with dry weather, very little or even no rain and clear skies. Slightly cooler temperatures can be experienced around hilly regions.

February

February is relatively cool and an average of 27°C across the country. Although you see little rain, the hottest months of the year are almost here, so you can expect temperatures to be pleasing throughout February in Cambodia.

March

March is the peak and busiest time to visit Cambodia as the temperatures reach the low 30°Cs. It is sunny and with little or no rainfall, like February. Hotels are booked far advanced towards the end of the month.

April

April is one of the hottest months of the year in Cambodia, with an average temperature of 35°C, and even a chance that it’ll reach 40°C. Even though locals celebrate Cambodian New Year, the wet season is right by the corner.

May

Even though there are some showers expected, it’s nothing that would interrupt your tour. In fact, it would lower the humidity and make more comfortable conditions. If you want to avoid peak times, May is perfect for you to go visit Cambodia as the weather is only slightly cooler than April.

June

Once reaching June, you can expect rains and showers throughout the month. The average temperature is still 28°C, so the rain helps to break the humidity. The monsoon season starts to begin. However, the showers are short and sharp, so they should not impact your trip.

July

The rain continues across the country, and temperatures start to decrease averaging 27°C, which causes the outer lying temples to be isolated around this time of year, making it easier for great places to be explored.

August

Temperatures decrease further, leaving many temples to be adventured, and rain reaches its peak this month, but the showers last 3 to 4 hours. Consequently, the countryside is more verdant than before and visiting flooded villages and forests by boat as the water levels rise.

September

September is Cambodia’s wettest month, so getting heavy downpours daily is expected. The rain makes roads to rural places harder to access Visiting a month either side is great.

October

The rain starts to decrease, making it good conditions to start exploring Cambodia again. Beat the chaotic crowds and come visit Cambodia in October.

November

Cambodia’s temples are explored by flocks of crowds at this time of year and the Cambodian Water Festival takes place in November, so hotel prices are higher around this time, so it’s important to book in advance.

December

During December, Cambodia’s peak season arrives, making a great place for a Christmas destination. Hotels are booked far in advance, so make sure you book as well!
